UK Tax Adviser for Canada
A Chartered Tax Adviser for UK tax with a Canadian connection
Fixed-fee UK tax returns, residence advice and cross-border planning for people moving between the UK and Canada, or living in Canada with UK income, pensions or property.
The Short Answer
Horizon UK Tax Solutions is a UK tax adviser for people with a Canadian connection: a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) practice, led by its founder, handling the UK side of a move to Canada, a life already settled there, or a move to the UK from Canada. Three things decide most of these cases. The Statutory Residence Test, which fixes your UK status year by year. The 1978 UK-Canada treaty, which generally hands Canada the taxing rights over UK pensions, including public-service ones. And, for arrivals, the 4-year FIG regime, which can shelter most of your Canadian income and gains for your first four UK-resident years if you qualify.
Leave the UK and UK rental income stays UK-taxable under the Non-Resident Landlord Scheme, a sale of UK residential property must be reported and paid within 60 days of completion, and a return within five years can pull certain gains back into UK tax if you were UK resident in at least four of the seven tax years before leaving. Arrive from Canada and the surprises reverse: a TFSA is not tax-free in the UK, RRSP and RRIF withdrawals are generally UK-taxable once resident, and leaving Canada can trigger departure tax. Horizon leads on the UK side and brings in a vetted Canadian specialist for Canadian filing or advice.
You work directly with the founder, a CTA with over 10 years of experience including 7 at a Big Four firm, and everything is handled remotely from London with year-round support. Fees are fixed and agreed in writing before any work starts: non-resident and expat tax returns are £550, personal returns start from £350 and complex returns from £750, and advisory work such as a departure or arrival plan is quoted as a fixed fee upfront. Never an hourly rate. The practice is rated 5.0 on Google from 19 reviews, with clients across six continents. Start with the free 30-minute clarity call.
What We Do

From Clients in This Position
Can't recommend Jordan enough. He helped me through my whole move from the UK to Canada for work and made what could've been a really stressful process feel manageable. He's also been great with my ongoing investments for my business ALLSZN and is always easy to reach, straight with me, and genuinely helpful whenever I've had questions.
