The Short Answer

Horizon UK Tax Solutions is a London-based Chartered Tax Adviser practice that handles the UK side of a move between the UK and Poland: the year-of-move return, your residence position, UK property and pensions you keep, and the UK-Poland treaty claims that stop the same income being taxed twice. Poland is a regime-selection move, not an escape. A Polish resident is taxed on worldwide income, so for anyone heading there the job is a clean UK exit under the Statutory Residence Test, the right treaty outcome on what stays UK-taxable, and, if you own a UK company, keeping Polish management and control from dragging it into Polish corporate tax.

The UK exit still decides most of the outcome. Split-year treatment is claimed on the SA109 pages of your return, not by the P85, and HMRC's free online service cannot file those pages. Once you are non-resident, a UK property sale must be reported, and any tax paid, within 60 days of completion, even where nothing is due. Returning Poles who keep a UK property or a working spouse in the UK should model the Statutory Residence Test before planning visits, because a few days either side of a threshold can flip the answer. We handle the UK side of each of these points and coordinate a local adviser in Poland for the Polish filings.

Everything is handled remotely from London, with year-round support and direct access to the adviser. Fees are fixed and agreed in writing before any work starts: a non-resident or expat tax return is £550, personal returns start from £350 and complex returns from £750, and advisory work such as a departure plan or a treaty review is quoted as one fixed figure upfront. There is never an hourly rate. The practice is founder-led by Jordan Onraet-Wells, a Chartered Tax Adviser with over 10 years of experience including 7 at a Big Four firm, and is rated 5.0 on Google from 19 reviews. What We Do

Handled for you, end to end

  • Your departure year: Statutory Residence Test modelling, then the Self Assessment return with the SA109 pages and split-year claim HMRC's free service cannot file
  • UK property kept or sold from Poland: the NRL1 application, the annual landlord return and the 60-day Capital Gains Tax report on sale
  • UK pensions under the UK-Poland treaty: government service pensions generally stay UK-taxable, the rest depend on the treaty and the disregarded-income rules, and we make the UK claim
  • A UK limited company run from Poland: the dual-residence risk from Polish management and control, settled before you move, not after
  • Poland's four-year return relief flagged before you move, the UK evidence of your time abroad prepared, and a vetted Polish adviser coordinated for the claim itself
  • Moving to the UK from Poland: the arrival-year split-year case, the SA109, and whether the four-year FIG regime is open to you

Moving to Poland from the UK: the 2026/27 tax guide

Poland taxes residents on worldwide income at 12% and 32%, but a 19% flat rate for business income, a lump-sum option on revenue and a four-year return relief make it far friendlier than the headline bands suggest. The UK exit still decides most of the outcome.
