UK Tax Adviser for Spain
A Chartered Tax Adviser for the UK side of life in Spain
UK tax returns, residency and treaty work for people moving to Spain, living there with UK income, or coming to the UK from Spain. Fixed fees, agreed first.
The Short Answer
Horizon UK Tax Solutions is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) practice in London that handles the UK tax side for people connected to Spain: British people moving there, people already living in Spain with UK income, property or pensions, and people moving to the UK from Spain. The UK does not let go when you board the plane. Your residence is decided by the Statutory Residence Test, a mid-year move usually needs split-year treatment, rent from a UK property stays UK-taxable however long you live in Spain, and the UK-Spain treaty decides which country taxes your pension.
The traps are about dates. Sell UK residential property while non-resident and the NRCGT return is due within 60 days of completion, even when no tax is due. Return to the UK after five years or less away, if UK resident in at least four of the seven tax years before leaving, and gains realised abroad can be pulled back into UK tax. The Beckham Law has its own clock, and while in it you are not treated as treaty resident, which can matter for UK-source income. We sequence the leaving date, split-year case and treaty claims in the right order, and coordinate a Spanish adviser for Spanish filings.
Everything is handled remotely, from London, with year-round support and direct access to the adviser: a CTA with over 10 years of experience, including 7 at a Big Four firm. Fees are fixed and agreed in writing before any work starts. Non-resident and expat tax returns are £550 fixed. Personal tax returns start from £350 and complex returns from £750, and advisory work such as a departure plan or a pension treaty claim is quoted as a fixed fee upfront. Never an hourly rate. The practice is rated 5.0 on Google from 19 reviews, with clients across six continents. Start with the free 30-minute clarity call.
What We Do
Handled for you, end to end
- Departure-year planning and the departure-year tax return: SRT timing, the split-year claim, the P85 and the SA109 pages HMRC's free online service cannot file
- NRL1 applications so your UK rent is paid gross, and the non-resident landlord return that still reports the profit to HMRC
- CGT on UK residential property sold from Spain, including the NRCGT return due within 60 days of completion even when no tax is due
- The UK-Spain treaty position on your pensions: Article 17 for private and state pensions, Article 18 for government-service pensions, and the DT-Spain Individual claim
- Arrival-year planning for people moving to the UK from Spain: the arriver day count, split-year Cases 4 to 8 and the SA109 claim
- Coordination with a vetted Spanish adviser for the Beckham Law application and Spanish filings, while Horizon leads on the UK and cross-border position
